But now, I want to share images from my recent visit to the Meridian Hill Park. If you’re ever in DC and you’re willing to go near U Street Metro, then you should definitely venture to this beautiful park. I can’t believe I went for the first time and this park has been around since the 1930s! Originally, I was sent by my work to photograph there but I also checked out the mallard ducks swimming in the fountain and found myself fascinated by their beauty so I had to share one of God’s beautiful creations. I got to see Cal Ripken, Jr. yesterday! He’s a Special Public Diplomacy Envoy to the U.S. State Department. That means he shares his skills as a tool to spread goodwill. In this case, he got to meet and train these Japanese Little League players who were visiting the U.S. Here Cal talks to the press about giving these kids a great time during their stay in the U.S.  and his future plans to visit Japan soon. How I love being part of the press!

The other day I got to take pics of this awesome family which I will update soon. But the star of the family is their youngest daughter Yoonji who is just a natural in front of the camera. I just had to showcase this adorable gem

These pics were taken with my point and shoot camera. There was no way I was going to schlep my 5 lbs camera around Florida. I believe that it’s not always about which camera you use but how you use it. I know I am uber late on this entry seeing that I took this trip back in March, ha! Nevertheless, I had a great time relaxing at Daytona beach, going to an oyster bar for the first time and checking out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios – Islands of Adventure. Most importantly, it’s always great catching up with Sung & Julie and getting to know Maria more. Here’s a link to the video I made to recap our trip. Enjoy!

Highlights: *People who work at Universal Studios are sooo nice! They forgot our order at 3 Broomsticks so they gave us free dessert and came back to apologize 2x! * The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was very impressive! All the details made the rides worth waiting. Universal Studios did an amazing job replicating the scenes you see from the movies * One Republic performance was awesome although I realize I’m not good at standing for 2 hours. *Me and this mother got feisty trying to catch the beads during the Mardi Gras parade. Julie said there was no way I was going to win, haha. * We snuck a mini bottle of rum into the park to add to our butter beer and it added a nice kick to our drink! * I passed out in our rental car after 1 or 2 glasses of beer from the oyster bar and met up with the girls later. I had a lovely time just sitting and watching people and looking over at the fountains as I waited for the girls. I really did! *Pleasure Island was overrated but I enjoyed the band that played our song requests twice. * If you watch the video, you’ll see Sung dancing randomly *

It’s not always easy using your camera’s self timer or trusting your friend to take your photo so why not get it all done in one sitting? If you’re quick and do not require many adjustments, I can photograph you in as many as 5-10 outfits in one sitting which will give you plenty of content for your blog or look book. Please see me for pricing. My church group and I spent our retreat at a lake house in Lake Anna (not the one in the pic above). I think it was in Bumpass, Va where-ever that is. This time I just brought my f1.4/50mm lens and my 5D Mark II, no flash, no other lenses. I went for a jog that morning and saw the splendor surrounding the lake house. So I went back to the house and got my camera and captured my surroundings. No people, just the beauty God created.
